Gabrielle Zandan is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor practicing in Austin, Texas. She specializes in both general mental health counseling and career counseling working primarily with young adults.
Gabrielle holds a Master of Arts Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Connecticut College. She is a Certified Psychodynamic Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist through the American Institute of Psychoanalysis in New York and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).
Gabrielle has 16+ years of experience working in corporate, clinical, academic and private practice settings. The majority of her experience has been focused on helping graduate level students and young professionals. Gabrielle started her career in Human Resources as a recruiter for one of the world's leading financial firms and helped manage the recruiting process and the training and development of the company's new hires. She transitioned to working as a Career Counselor for both undergraduate and graduate students and most recently served as an Assistant Director of Career Management for the University of Texas, McCombs School of Business. She has taught masters-level courses on Strategic Career Management as well as conducted workshops and trainings on management and workplace concerns including utilizing empathy in the workplace, overcoming imposter syndrome and mental health awareness. She is also a certified Gottman Bringing Baby Home Educator. She has worked as a Mental Health Counselor at the Karen Horney Clinic in New York City as part of the American Institute for Psychoanalysis and was also a therapist at Alive Austin in Austin, TX. Gabrielle is currently a specialty communication coach for the University of Texas, McCombs School of Business MBA+ Leadership Program as well as a therapist for the SIMS Foundation providing mental health services to Austin musicians and their families. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Austin Psychoanalytic Society and is a member of the American Counseling Association.
* Manie is a therapy dog and is often at the office for sessions with clients. She is hypoallergenic and (usually) clean. Please let me know if you have any problem with Manie attending your session.
